2018 Women of Achievement Honorees

YWCA Lancaster has announced the six honorees for the Women of Achievement Awards.

The six honorees are: Melisa Baez - Director of Entrepreneur Training – ASSETS; Vy Banh - Co-owner of Rice & Noodles Restaurant; Dr. Beth Becker - Grade 9 Principal, Hempfield School District; Bonnie Glover - Retiring Director of Domestic Violence Services of Lancaster County; Willonda McCloud - President & CEO of Bright Side Opportunities Center, and, Kayla Schneider - Child Advocate and Miss Keystone 2018 

The local organization will celebrate the individuals at the Women of Achievement Awards Luncheon Friday, Nov. 2, from 11:30 a.m. to 1 p.m. at the Inn at Leola Village.  Keynote speaker at the event will be Dr. Wendy Osefo, a Nigerian-American television personality and a progressive political commentator and strategist. Dr. Osefo is a professor of education at The Johns Hopkins University, contributor at “The Hill,” and the founder and CEO of The 1954 Equity Project, LLC.

Since 1889, YWCA Lancaster has offered educational programming, Child Development programs, counseling about healthy relational boundaries and sexual assault, workshops and classes, as well as emergency and affordable housing for low-to-moderate-income single women and women with young children on a month-to-month basis during transitional periods in their lives.
