Governor Tom Wolf has signed a proclamation declaring June as Pride Month in Pennsylvania. Wolfe's announcement can been seen in a video featured here. Click on the proclamation to view it.
Since taking office Wolf accomplished the following relative to the LGBTQ+ community:
1) In 2016, signed two executive orders to expand protections from discrimination based on sexual orientation, gender expression, or identity for state employees and employees of contractors doing business with the commonwealth.
2) Created the first of its kind LGBT Workgroup that implements policies to further support Pennsylvania’s state government. Led by Secretary of Health, Dr. Rachel Levine, the workgroup is making strides to create a more inclusive state government.
3) Worked to increase the number of state contracts that go to small diverse businesses, which include LGBTQ owned and operated businesses.
4) Hosted the first-ever LGBTQ Pride Reception at the Governor’s Mansion in Harrisburg.
