A cut above the rest

Lancaster LGBTQ+ Coalition celebrates

Posted

Lee Cohen cut the ribbon on the Lancaster LGBTQI+ Coalition Center last month. Cohen is coordinator of the center.

On Dec. 1 World AIDS Day, the new center issued this message via Social Media: “We are grateful for the work of the Lancaster AIDS Project (LAP) and The Pink Triangle Coalition that helped save so many lives when there was so little help available for our community. We honor the families who have lost loved ones and vow to continue to fight for access to dignified health care and affirming retirement communities in Lancaster County. We are committed to educating and advocating for safer sex practices and erasing the stigma associated with a status. Please remember to get tested regularly!”

LAP is now part of Alder Health Services, celebrating its 35thanniversary Sept. 25, 2020. The Central Voice's Legal Analyst Sharon Lopez was a significant force in LAP’s founding.
